Welcome to our site

This site is for two of our favorite pets, both now gone but not forgotten

Bagpuss

Baxter

Bagpuss, the cat Baxter, the dog
Bagpuss, a Persian, found one morning in a local car park. Filthy, fur matted into a hard shell she followed us home, cleaned up a treat and was a loyal companian for the next eight years. We never did work out where she came from but found later that an old lady had passed away just before Bagpuss arrived; Certainly, Bagpuss behaved like an Old Ladies cat, taking tit-bits from the table, mostly asleep and very affectionate. Baxter, a Bassett / Beagle Cross, taken in as a rescue aged two, passed away suddenly aged just four. Found tied to a lamp post (we were told) he followed us around like a lamb although, left on his own, promptly fell asleep! With the hunting dexterity of his ancestery, he had no problem snaffling cheese sandwiches, garlic bread or the cat's dinner and was an accomplished escape artist.
